It's All In the Name!
When I started thinking of a website design for my online boutique, I wanted it to be meaningful and that was the beginning steps to my creation of my boutique. Born in America, but raised by two Italian-speaking parents from Italy, it was uncommon to speak English in the home. Back then, speaking another language was embarrassing, but I have truly embraced it as I matured and realized how valuable it was to be bilingual and what a truly beautiful language it is; hence, the title of my store is in Italian.
Tesoro Fino means "Fine Treasures". Yes, sounds nice and simple. I sell some sort of Fine Treasures, but if you visit my website: www.TesoroFino.com , you will see many items on the introduction page that catch your attention, such as old photos of people and places in Italy, a treasure box, a painter's palette, a paint brush, rosary beads, etc. These are all the ingredients that helped develop who I am today and were the foundation of what inspired me to create my online boutique today. And if it weren't for the people and places I've been, Tesoro Fino would not exist. I wanted to honor and give tribute to those special people and places.
The photos are of my parents in their younger years, my father an artist who painted cathedrals in southern Italy, inspired me to create and also paint throughout my life. In America he worked for some of the top Interior Designers inside the homes of the rich and famous. As a child, I grew up inside these spectacular homes surrounded by these talented designers. Hence, my love for home decor.
My mother was the nurturer and an ,incredible cook who showed her love to all through the use of food. And so now I do the same and have incorporated Mama Rosa's authentic secret family recipes in my boutique. Her genuine love for family and people and food was her treasure that she handed down to me. Therefore, this was one more treasure I needed to add to my Boutique of Fine Treasures at TesoroFino.com.
I wanted to show people that Tesoro Fino encompasses many treasures, not just material treasures for sale. It's not just a place to shop, but a place to connect. The birth of Tesoro Fino would not have happened if my father did not instill his love for painting, if he did not take me into the beautiful homes to give me a love for fine home decor, if I didn't have the opportunity to absorb incredible knowledge from the top designers, etc.
If it wasn't for my mother, I would not have wanted Tesoro Fino to be more than a place to shop. Like Mama Rosa, I wanted to nurture people. So, at Tesoro Fino, I ask people to stay a while and browse through Mama Rosa's incredible authentic recipes of real Italian cooking, I share many interior design articles, I post events happening in our area, I post contests and give-aways, I have a page for inspirational quotes. Like Mama Rosa, I want to show my love to everyone through good food, good conversation and sharing.
